Mukhtar Auezov: biography of the writer
The writer was born at a time when the Kazakh territories were under the rule of the Russian Empire — in 1897. Auezov's small homeland is the Shyngystau tract (East Kazakhstan region).
His brief biography is as follows:
The beginning of the path
The boy was orphaned early. The father was the first to leave this world (1900), and 12 years later Mukhtar's mother died. Uncle Kassymbek took care of the upbringing and education of the teenager:
• arranged for his nephew in a madrasah;
• then there was a Russian school in Semipalatinsk;
• Later, Mukhtar received an elementary pedagogical education.
In 1919 Mukhtar Auezov joined the Bolshevik Party. Kazakhs are appointed to senior positions. A brief biography of these years is associated with the work of:
• in the Kazakh department of the Gubernatorial committee as the head (Semipalatinsk);
• in the editorial office of the newspaper "Kazakh Tili";
• in KazTSIk as a secretary (Orenburg).
• In parallel, Mukhtar Omarkhanovich writes books, plays for the theater, works in periodicals. In 1922, a patriotic writer was expelled from the Bolshevik Party for nationalism. In the autumn of the same year, Auezov became a student at the Central Asian University (Tashkent), collaborates with the magazine "Sholpan". The following year, Mukhtar transferred to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) State University at the Department of Literature and Language of the Faculty of Social Sciences. In 1928, the writer received a diploma and returned to Tashkent, where he entered the graduate school of the Central Asian University. The years of Mukhtar Auezov's life during this period were overshadowed by another round of repression. The authorities persecuted representatives of the nationally conscious intelligentsia. The ice rink of repression again swept through the Kazakh elite. Mukhtar Auezov was accused of involvement in an opposition organization. He was under investigation for more than two years. The sentence is conditional imprisonment for a period of three years.
• The author of immortal works was in three official and one civil marriage: In his first marriage with young Rayhan, a daughter, Mugamile, was born, who remained with her father after the divorce. The second wife was Abai's granddaughter Kamila Magauiyakyzy (no children). From the third official marriage with Valentina Kuzmina, Mukhtar had a daughter, Leila, and a son, Ernar. In a civil marriage with Fatima Gabitova, a son Murat was born. In 1961, the writer became seriously ill, was treated in Moscow, but was unable to undergo a complex operation and died before he reached the age of 65.
• During the writer's lifetime, his creative work was regarded exclusively from the position of communist dogmas. His works were attributed to socialist realism. However, the framework of this method did not reveal the stylistic and genre richness of his prose and drama. Now they are being evaluated in a new way: Auezov's creative legacy is a notable phenomenon of the world literary process.
